A fiber-optic switch helps distribute light to or from different locations or to connect to multiple light sources. Up to 32 channels are possible; the cost per point can be reduced significantly.
The overall measurement time is increased due to the switching process, but even 32 channels can be measured in about 1.5 seconds. Reproducibility is better than 0.5%. Fibers with diameters of up to 600 μm can be used (32 channels: 400 µm). Various fiber connectors are available. Electronic control is handled through TTL, I2C or USB.
We supply the switches either as OEM units with external fiber pigtails or packaged as stand-alone devices. We also design full “all-in-one-box” multi-channel systems, with all components integrated.
